Obama on Reparations and His Disdain for the US Constitution

When Obama gave his monumental race speech, it left me wondering is Obama for reparations?

“Anger over welfare and affirmative action helped forge the Reagan Coalition. Politicians routinely exploited fears of crime for their own electoral ends. Talk show hosts and conservative commentators built entire careers unmasking bogus claims of racism while dismissing legitimate discussions of racial injustice and inequality as mere political correctness or reverse racism….

It is not enough to give health care to the sick, or jobs to the jobless, or education to our children. But it is where we start. It is where our union grows stronger.”

In a recently released video Obama says that the Constitution and the Warren court did not go far enough.  He clearly explains his disdain for the Constitution while making his intentions of reparations clear.

“To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as its been interpreted and Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states can’t do to you. Says what the Federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf, and that hasn’t shifted and one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was, um, because the civil rights movement became so court focused I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change. In some ways we still suffer from that.”

Let’s take a closer look at what Obama said.  Obama wants the Constitution to be interpreted differently than what the founding fathers intended.  He wants activist judges that will put in motion reparations for Blacks.  Obama is criticizing the Constitution because it does not spell out what the government has to do for you.  Obama is missing the point of the founders that they wrote the Constitution in a way to protect us from the Government encroaching on our liberties.  What is this redistributive change?  Well essentially this is reparations.

Obama’s “redistributive change” does not stop with just Americans, but encompasses people in poverty worldwide, more specifically Africa.  Check out Obama’s Senate bill 2433.  I have not heard him once mention this while on the campaign trail.  Obama’s Senate bill 2433 will cost Americans an estimated $850 billion.  From the Millennium Development Goal which is what Senate bill 2433 forces the US to comply with it says:

We will support the consolidation of democracy in Africa and assist Africans in their struggle for lasting peace, poverty eradication and sustainable development, thereby bringing Africa into the mainstream of the world economy.” (section IV, 27)

“To take special measures to address the challenges of poverty eradication and sustainable development in Africa, including debt cancellation, improved market access, enhanced Official Development Assistance and increased flows of Foreign Direct Investment, as well as transfers of technology.” ( Section III, 18 )

As part of Obama’s “redistributive change,” he says that Community Organizers (aka ACORN) are critical to putting these changes in motion. He understands the brutal tactics of a community organizer and how they can force these changes. In order to gloss over that these are reparations, he is calling it redistributive change.

Now let’s take a closer look at the Fannie Mae Crisis.  Obama knew Fannie Mae was in crisis and decided to stay silent.  Why?  Well of course he was taking money from Fannie Mae, but he kept silent because the black caucus was Fannie Mae’s “family.”  The black caucus and Dems were hiding the truth about Fannie Mae because this was a form of reparations owed to them.  It was stealth reparations.  The reality is Obama is for reparations.  Because of the reckless mismanagement of Fannie Mae our entire economy has been brought to its knees.  Is simply the black caucus to blame for this economic crisis?  NO! I have explained in detail in another post who and what is to blame. But Fannie Mae with 50% of its assets in junk high risk loans was a major factor in this meltdown.

At this time Barack Obama, a new US Senator, could have stood up and pointed out this corruption knowing that Fannie Mae was in trouble. No, he kept quiet. This is a pattern with Barack Obama when he is faced with a crisis or situation where he could really make a difference, a positive change, he keeps silent. This shows his lack of good judgment and that he is unfit to be President of this great nation.

How can Barack Obama take the oath of the President of the United States which is to uphold the Constitution of the United States when he abhors it?  Barack Obama believes in everything that is foreign to the United States and its Forefathers.  This nation has remained great because of the God given Constitution we have.  If you start misinterpreting it, eventually what you have left will be something quite different than what our forefathers fought and died for.  My favorite explanation of this is from Clarence Thomas who wrote the following:

Clarence Thomas leaps from his chair. He retrieves a wire coat hanger from his closet for a demonstration — the same demonstration he gives his law clerks. He bends it and says: “How do you compensate? So, you say well, deal with it. Bend this over here. Oh, wait a minute, bend it a little bit there. And you’re saying that it throws everything out of whack. What do you do?”

He holds up a twisted wire, useless now for its original purpose and the point is made. “If you notice sometimes I will write just to point out that I think that we’ve gone down a track that’s going to cause some distortion, then it’s quite precisely because of that. I don’t do things that I think are illegitimate in other areas, just to bend it back to compensate for what’s already happened.”

Interpreting the Constitution is the Supreme Court’s most important and most difficult task. An even harder question is how to approach a Constitution that, in fact, is no longer in pristine form — with the Framers’ design having been warped over the years by waves of judicial mischief. There is an obvious temptation to redress the imbalance, which Associate Justice Thomas decisively rejects. Thus his coat hanger metaphor. (From the Wall Street Journal 3/22/2008)

The reality is the more we freely interpret the constitution, the more we will get away from the protections that our forefathers put in place to guard our liberties.  Barack Obama is open about redistributing the wealth.  What he is not telling you is that his underlying plan to make reparations to blacks.  I’m sorry but many programs have already been put in place to aid blacks.  In this country every American has the right to be successful.  The more pressing issues that the black community must deal with is their plight of the break down of the black family.  Black Father’s must raise their children.  Responsibility for one’s own actions must be taught along with hard work.  Twenty years ago when I took my Sociology class in college,  we studied the plight of the black family.  It was dire then, and it has not changed in 20 years.  I think this problem must be addressed by the black community first and foremost before more hand outs are given.  Obama even spoke about this on Father’s Day:

Of all the rocks upon which we build our lives, we are reminded today that family is the most important. And we are called to recognize and honor how critical every father is to that foundation. They are teachers and coaches. They are mentors and role models. They are examples of success and the men who constantly push us toward it.

But we also need families to raise our children. We need fathers to realize that responsibility does not end at conception. We need them to realize that what makes you a man is not the ability to have a child — it’s the courage to raise one.

But if we are honest with ourselves, we’ll admit that what too many fathers also are is missing — missing from too many lives and too many homes. They have abandoned their responsibilities, acting like boys instead of men. And the foundations of our families are weaker because of it.

You and I know how true this is in the African-American community. We know that more than half of all black children live in single-parent households, a number that has doubled — doubled — since we were children. We know the statistics — that children who grow up without a father are five times more likely to live in poverty and commit crime; nine times more likely to drop out of schools and 20 times more likely to end up in prison. They are more likely to have behavioral problems, or run away from home or become teenage parents themselves. And the foundations of our community are weaker because of it.

Americans today are not responsible for what happened generations ago.  Slavery is evil, yet still exists in the world.  Parts of Africa still practice slavery, but it is blacks enslaving blacks.  Who is to blame then?  Why are we to blame for something that happened so long ago.  I never owned slaves so why should I be punished for something I did not do?   Whether you agree with reparations or not, if Obama gets elected he will make sure we all pay reparations.  He will call it economic justice, but it will simply be reparations.  Unless you want a massive redistribution of wealth described as “economic justice,” you had better for vote McCain/Palin on November 4th.

    Not us Democrats now blame it all on the GOP and Bush . I was watching Fox News and they had a Member of the DNC . They were asked about the economy and how we got here they blamed the GOP and G Bush . Even though they have had the control of the congress for two years. They claim the taxes were going to go up to clean up the mess . You dont raise taxes on a down dollar. McCain knows that . So McCain is cutting taxes where Obama wants to raise them . He is showing his inexperience. Lets see you cant hear it , you cant see the video , we dont want to answer the hard questions. We can blame everyone else , we can lie about the plans to not raise taxes. We can give money to Acorn and they can make up the votes we need wink wink. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE CRAP THE Obama IS COOKING. I will remind you by the time cigar totting Bill C was done it took us two years to fix it. We dont need a welfare state . We dont need a man who has ties to both a foreign and domestic terrorist. And when asked they clam up. The bottom line is dont let them BUY the White House . Dont be sheep.

    Why would you wonder whether Obama is for reparations? He’s come out against them repeatedly (and in writing), and he’s declined all opportunities to support them.

    If you believe that talk of social justice and equality inevitably leads to reparations for slavery, then that’s your understanding of our history and its connection to the present, not Obama’s.
