More experts agree that global warming and climate change is not due to CO2.  There are changes in climate due to many things.  How did the Egyptians pharoah’s finally fall?  There was a massive drought that caused the Nile river to dry up and there was mass starvation.  Tell me Global Warming fanatics how did that happen if this is all based on the industrial revolution?

Over 650 dissenting scientists from around the globe challenged man-made global warming claims made by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and former Vice President Al Gore. This new 231-page U.S. Senate Minority Report — updated from 2007’s groundbreaking report of over 400 scientists who voiced skepticism about the so-called global warming “consensus” — features the skeptical voices of over 650 prominent international scientists, including many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned against the UN IPCC. This updated report includes an additional 250 (and growing) scientists and climate researchers since the initial release in December 2007.  The over 650 dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media-hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.

The chorus of skeptical scientific voices grow louder in 2008 as a steady stream of peer-reviewed studies, analyses, real world data and inconvenient developments challenged the UN’s and former Vice President Al Gore’s claims that the “science is settled” and there is a “consensus.” On a range of issues, 2008 proved to be challenging for the promoters of man-made climate fears.  Promoters of anthropogenic warming fears endured the following: Global temperatures failing to warm; Peer-reviewed studies predicting a continued lack of warming; a failed attempt to revive the discredited “Hockey Stick”; inconvenient developments and studies regarding rising CO2; the Spotless Sun; Clouds; Antarctica; the Arctic; Greenland’s ice; Mount Kilimanjaro; Global sea ice; Causes of Hurricanes; ExtremeStorms; Extinctions; Floods; Droughts; Ocean Acidification; Polar Bears; Extreme weather deaths; Frogs; lack of atmospheric dust; Malaria; the failure of oceans to warmand rise as predicted.

Steven Chu – Big Mistake as Energy Director

Hold on to your wallets people because you will be taxed for breathing.  Oh yes CO2 will be made a pollutant under Obama.  So that vapor tax cut you are getting from Obama which is actually just that you get to keep your Bush tax cut will not come close to the high energy, food, and goods prices you are about to encounter.  I wonder how Obama is going to blame Bush for his own stupidity on this Global Warming fiasco.  Its snowing in Houston and New Orleans and they continue to claim the planet is warming!   I guess Obama’s team had better tell Mother Nature its suppose to be getting hotter not colder, so your Global Warming junk science would at least appear to be correct.

Barack Obama’s apparent choice for Energy secretary is physicist Steven Chu. While there’s no question about Chu’s brilliance, his political activism is not what the country needs….

He has criticized “free market forces” for not cutting carbon dioxide emissions and supports “a combination of fiscal policies and downright regulations” for controlling CO2.

He claims coal — which today fuels hundreds of power plants — is an “obstacle to progress,” and has said “coal is my worst nightmare.” And he shows an alarmist’s fear of global warming.

Chu is also a zealous advocate of alternative energy, using his position as director of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California to push policymakers to remake the facility into a center for researching biofuels and solar energy.

An opponent of coal who happens to be a global warming reactionary is not suitable to be in charge of the nation’s energy policy.

Our economy, our culture — our very lives — depend on a steady flow of conventional energy, at least until economically viable alternatives can be developed. The energy secretary should do little more than ensure that America has a plentiful and uninterrupted supply of fossil fuels and electricity.

Associated “Obama” Press – Warns of Global Warming

Its ridiculous the Associate Press continues to propagate the myth of global warming while it snowed in New Orleans and Houston recently.  Don’t worry Obama keeps propagating the myth also.  Why?  Well of course because they want to levy high cap and trade taxes on us.   They even want to make CO2 a pollutant.  Essentially you will be taxed for breathing.  I wonder how Obama is going to spin all of these unnecessary taxes.  Well he definitely won’t be able to blame Bush.  He’ll have to take responsibility for decreasing every American’s standard of living for himself.

The temperature at Denver International Airport dropped to 18 below zero on Sunday, breaking the previous record of 14 below set in 1901. White Sulphur Springs, Mont., reported 29 below to the National Weather Service, breaking the record of 17 below set in 1922. Meanwhile, ice storms ravage the Northeast and the upper Midwest.

This is not a local phenomenon. Hong Kong had the second-longest cold spell since 1885. Cold in northern Vietnam destroyed 40% of the rice crop and killed 33,000 head of livestock. The British Parliament debated climate change as London experienced the first October snow since 1934.

Presumably this has all been reported by the Associated Press. But according to a weekend AP report, this is all an illusion and “2008 is on a pace to be a slightly cooler year in a steadily rising temperature trend line.” Rather than being “evidence of some kind of cooling trend, it actually illustrates how fast the world is warming.” Oh.

The report, which includes no comments from any skeptic, says global warming “is a ticking time-bomb that President-elect Obama can’t avoid.” It warns “warming is accelerating. Time is running out, and Obama knows it.” Especially if he relies on AP wire reports.

Problem is, nature didn’t get the memo. Geophysicist David Deming found that for the first time since the 18th century, in the days before SUVs, Alaskan glaciers grew this year instead of retreating. Fairbanks had its fourth coldest October in 104 years of records.

U.S. Geological Survey glaciologist Bruce Molnia reported: “On the Juneau Icefield, there was still 20 feet of new snow on the surface of the Taku Glacier in late July.” It was the worst summer he’d seen in two decades.

As the Anchorage Daily News reports, “Never before in the history of a research project dating back to 1946 had the Juneau Ice Field witnessed the kind if snow buildup that came this year. It was similar on a lot of other glaciers too.”

The consequence of melting glaciers and sea ice is supposed to be rising sea levels. The poster children for this phenomenon are low-lying coral islands such as the Maldives and Tuvalu. Again, the facts are ignored in the quest for headlines.

The satellite record shows the sea level has actually fallen four inches around Tuvalu since 1993, when the $100 million international TOPEX/POSEIDON satellite project record began.

Obama: I’ll make energy prices “skyrocket”

Think your electricity rates are high now? Just wait until Obama gets elected!  Instead of drilling now and using clean coal while we find that “new” energy source.  Obama has promised that he will force change on Americans by making electricity prices skyrocket!  Of course this won’t affect the wealthy elitists in Hollywood that love Obama.  This will drastically affect the middle class as our standard of living gets lowered.  Higher energy prices will lead to higher prices on food and goods also.  It will ripple through the economy like wild fire.   What will the Dems do?  Of course they will blame it on Bush.  I think this excuse is going to get old really fast.  When this happens, I will repost this and say see I told you so a year ago!

Global Warming debunked!

New evidence reveals the fundamental mathematical flaw in the computer program used to create the Global Warming myth.

Progress in science is sometimes made by great discoveries. But science also advances when we learn that something we believed to be true isnt. When solving a jigsaw puzzle, the solution can sometimes be stymied by the fact that a wrong piece has been wedged in a key place.

In the scientific and political debate over global warming, the latest wrong piece may be the hockey stick, the famous plot (shown below), published by University of Massachusetts geoscientist Michael Mann and colleagues. This plot purports to show that we are now experiencing the warmest climate in a millennium, and that the earth, after remaining cool for centuries during the medieval era, suddenly began to heat up about 100 years ago–just at the time that the burning of coal and oil led to an increase in atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide.

I talked about this at length in my December 2003 column. Unfortunately, discussion of this plot has been so polluted by political and activist frenzy that it is hard to dig into it to reach the science. My earlier column was largely a plea to let science proceed unmolested. Unfortunately, the very importance of the issue has made careful science difficult to pursue.

But now a shock: Canadian scientists Stephen McIntyre and Ross McKitrick have uncovered a fundamental mathematical flaw in the computer program that was used to produce the hockey stick. In his original publications of the stick, Mann purported to use a standard method known as principal component analysis, or PCA, to find the dominant features in a set of more than 70 different climate records.

But it wasnt so. McIntyre and McKitrick obtained part of the program that Mann used, and they found serious problems. Not only does the program not do conventional PCA, but it handles data normalization in a way that can only be described as mistaken.

What Global Warming???

Start with Alaska, a place in the news of late. The state’s glaciers, after two centuries of shrinkage (a trend that began before the advent of the internal combustion engine and smokestack economy), actually grew during the winter of 2007-08.

“In general,” Bruce Molnia, a U.S. Geological Survey glaciologist, told the Anchorage Daily News, “the weather this summer was the worst I have seen in at least 20 years.”

Translation: It was so cold that the snow that causes glaciers to expand didn’t melt until later than usual.

Meanwhile, the International Arctic Research Center reports 29% more Arctic sea ice this year than last. This doesn’t exactly square with overheated predictions earlier in the year that the North Pole would be entirely free of ice over the summer for the first time in recorded history.

Farther south, midmonth temperatures in Oregon hit record lows, and on Oct. 10 Boise, Idaho, got its earliest snow ever — 1.7 inches that beat the old record by one day and 7/10 of an inch.

Much farther south, Durban, South Africa, had its coldest September night in history a month ago, and parts of the country had an unusual late-winter snow. A month earlier in New Zealand, officials at Mount Ruapehu reported the largest snow base ever.

These last four developments, taken together or separately, don’t disprove the global warming theory. But unlike climate projection models, which are often wrong but endlessly thrown in our faces as examples of hard science, they are real world events wholly contrary to the story the alarmists have been spreading.

Global Cooling

WASHINGTON (Map, News) – It’s been unusually chilly in Anchorage this summer. In fact, temperatures in the Alaskan city have reached 70 degrees only twice this year, compared with 49 times in 2004. A National Weather Service meteorologist predicted that 2008 will likely go down “as the summer with the least number of 65-degree days” on record.

Last week, the scientist who wrote the computer model that monitors Australia’s compliance with the Kyoto Protocol cast serious doubts on whether the Earth is getting warmer at all. David Evans was a consultant to the Australian Greenhouse Office from 1999 to 2005, so he’s no ordinary global warming “denier.” But Evans now says the scientific evidence compiled since 1999 has convinced him that he — and what he calls other global warming “alarmists” — were wrong.

What evidence? The telltale greenhouse signature — a hot spot about 10 kilometers up that would confirm carbon emissions’ role in global warming — has simply not been found, even by hundreds of instruments (radiosondes) that have been monitoring atmospheric temperatures for decades. In fact, Evans says, satellites all say the warming trend ended in 2001, and that the Earth’s temperature actually dropped 0.6 degrees Celsius last year — to what it was back in 1980.

Furthermore, new ice cores dating back a half million years show that temperature rises an average 800 years before there is an accompanying rise in atmospheric carbon, which, Evans says, “says something important about which was cause and which was effect.”

Despite $50 billion spent worldwide since 1990 to avert a man-made climate catastrophe, Evans maintains there is still no scientific evidence that carbon emissions cause significant temperature changes.

Christopher Monckton of Brenchley Proves IPCC Climate Data is Invalid

Essentially the IPCC Climate Data is flawed. Another prominent scientist proves that the climate data is skewed and invalid. Monckton formerly was a science advisor to the late British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

(If you want to see the science, click here ) Viscount Monckton contends that the climate alarmists have mistakenly pre-programmed their computer models with equations that overstate the earth’s sensitivity to CO2 by 500 to 2,000 percent – thus creating a senseless First World panic that itself threatens the future of society.

From Monckton’s paper:

The present analysis suggests that the failure of the IPCC’s models to predict this and many other climatic phenomena arises from defects in its evaluation of the three factors whose product is climate sensitivity:

  1. Radiative forcing ΔF;
  2. The no-feedbacks climate sensitivity parameter κ; and
  3. The feedback multiplier ƒ.

Some reasons why the IPCC’s estimates may be excessive and unsafe are explained. More importantly, the conclusion is that, perhaps, there is no “climate crisis”, and that currently-fashionable efforts by governments to reduce anthropogenic CO2 emissions are pointless, may be ill-conceived, and could even be harmful.
