Veer Right Transitioning

Veer Right will still be a WordPress blog, but is being transitioned to a WordPress.org site.  You will still be able to connect to veerite.com.  During the transition, the web site may not look the same while I move everything to its new site.  Just check back in a day or two if this happens.  I started this blog as a hobby Spring 2008 because of the obvious bias in the media for Barack Obama.  I felt that if I didn’t speak up, how could the truth be known.  I ended up reading the Pentagon report on Saddam released March 2008 and realized that the media again has suppressed the truth.  I wrote an article about it that was published on American Thinker.  After delving into the sourced Iraqi memos and transcripts,  I realized I could write a book.  The editor at American Thinker introduced me to a literary agent, and I wrote my first book.  Now my blog has turned into a part time job.  Please keep checking back with Veer Right about the truth behind the issues and main stream media propaganda.

Stimulus not to go to White Males!!!

Ok.  I’m not a white male, but this is racism.  Color does not have ANYTHING to do with layoffs.  In fact three white people who are US citizens were just laid off at my company while a department full of Indians on Visas from India stayed employed.  This is racism.  Lay off the white US citizens while our jobs go to H1b Indians on Visas.  All things considered I was more qualified than most of the people in my department and I was the ONLY CERTIFIED person in my department.  I being a WHITE US Citizen was laid off.  This is disgusting.  This is RACISM plain and simple, but now its racism against whites.  Now Congress is spewing this racist garbage.  I thought this country moved forward and put racism to rest with the election of Obama.  Oh no, if Congress is going to spew this garbage we’ve just gone back 30 years.

Pelosi to shut out Reps in House

What about having an open debate???  There will be no more open debates in the US House of Representatives.  Ok America you voted the Dems in and this is what you get.  Remember when the Republicans won a majority and the Dems were screaming that they would have a voice.  The Obama Regime is almost in power and we can see how they will rule.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi plans to re-write House rules today to ensure that the Republican minority is unable to have any influence on legislation. Pelosi’s proposals are so draconian, and will so polarize the Capitol, that any thought President-elect Obama has of bipartisan cooperation will be rendered impossible before he even takes office.

Pelosi’s rule changes — which may be voted on today — will reverse the fairness rules that were written around Newt Gingrich’s “Contract with America.”

In reaction, the House Republican leadership is sending a letter today to Pelosi to object to changes to House Rules this week that would bar Republicans from offering alternative bills, amendments to Democrat bills or even the guarantee of open debate accessible by motions to recommit for any piece of legislation during the entire 111th Congress. These procedural abuses, as outlined in the below letter obtained by HUMAN EVENTS, would also include the repeal of six-year limit for committee chairmen and other House Rules reform measures enacted in 1995 as part of the Contract with America.

Congress votes themselves a pay raise

While we were all getting ready for the holidays what was Congress doing?  Voting themselves a pay raise of course.  While thousands are being laid off, Congress of course thinks of themselves.

What a great time for taxpayers to give senators and congressmen a $2.5 million jump in their already bloated salaries. It’s tough to get by on $217,400 a year if you’re House Speaker Nancy Pelosi — even if, as the Washington Times reported, you funneled nearly $100,000 from your political action committee to your husband’s business over a decade.

Last year, Pelosi supported a bill banning payments from PACs to congressional spouses, but that didn’t stop her from doing it. Most members of Congress have to subsist on only $169,300 annually, so the $4,700 raise they’re giving themselves next year should help keep them off food stamps.

It’s hard to know where to start in expressing outrage. The last thing this Congress deserves is a raise. A new report from Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., found over $1 billion in taxpayer funding wasted on nonsense ranging from searching in vain for Alaskan ice worms to an airplane-shaped, nonworking gas station in Tennessee to nearly $300,000 for specialty potatoes for high-end restaurants.

Our Future Under Obama

If you thought “W” ran a regime, just wait until Obama takes over.  A born and bred Marxist.  He will use the thugery he learned in Chicago to keep power, force his policies through, and destroy his opposition.  Conservatives need to pray and work locally to make sure the truth gets out.  I feel there is some hope because the media is now questioning who Obama is, so maybe some truth will come out in the MSM.  I expect it to be majorly skewed though.

Too many conservatives think we’ve seen all this before — in 1964 and 1974 and 1992 — and that we know how to handle it. Fly, meet ointment: We’re not dealing with the same sorts of opponents. These New Alinskyites who are taking over the White House, combined with the most leftist congressional leadership in memory, will not let us play by the same rules under which conservatives recovered from those earlier debacles. They will try to drastically tilt the playing field, seed our side of the field with land mines and, in short, rig the process to make it next to impossible for the political right, or Republicans, to recover. And they are likely to succeed in at least some of these designs.

It will begin with their efforts to secure a filibuster-proof majority of 60 senators (including the two independents). Right now the libs (and yes, all the Democratic senators, with the possible exception of Nebraska’s Ben Nelson, are libs) have 56, with three Republican moderates and one conservative leading their races but awaiting recounts or runoffs. Watch for the Alinskyites to try stealing all four, and to succeed in at least two. We’ve seen this game before. They did it in Indiana’s “Bloody Eighth” congressional district in 1984. They almost succeeded in 2000 in Florida. They did succeed, outrageously so, in the Washington State governor’s race in 2004. Those are just the most obvious of many similar examples. And now they are even more ruthless, more lawyered-up, and in a more powerful position to pull it off than they were in any of those instances.

Next, watch what happens if they regularly can’t peel off enough Republicans (or hold their own semi-fairminded people like Nelson and Joe Lieberman) to overcome whatever filibuster attempts Republicans do mount. Watch for an assault on the filibuster itself. Watch how they use as precedent the GOP “nuclear/constitutional option” on judges in 2005 — except instead of just using it for judges, watch them use it against all filibusters. It’s easy: Make the ruling from the chair that the filibuster is out of order for some reason. Instruct the parliamentarian to rule in their favor. Win the appeal of the parliamentarian’s ruling by simple majority vote. And watch the courts pronounce it an internal matter of the legislative branch and thus outside of courtroom purview.

Watch a cheerleading establishment media — the Fourth Estate as a veritable Fifth Column — actually back these lefty maneuvers. It’s all in the name of one-man/one-vote democracy, dontcha know? The filibuster once served its purpose, they’ll say, but as a vestige of Southern “massive resistance” to integration it is now being used for massive resistance to the first black president, which invalidates it (suddenly) as a legitimate tool.

Watch the left use these tactics and others to pass even more liberalized voting laws — an open invitation to even more fraud that is more creative, easier to hide, and less challengeable in court.

Watch what Michael Barone called the Obama “thugocracy” use the Justice Department to stifle dissent. Anybody who complains about vote fraud will be charged with “vote suppression.” Anybody who complains about DoJ’s actions will be charged with interfering with an investigation. Anybody who denies having interfered will be charged with perjury. Likewise, anybody who peacefully protests abortion clinics or the use of state-sponsored racial quotas will be charged with a civil rights violation. And the accused won’t be able to look to the Supreme Court for help: Anthony Kennedy’s “evolving standards” of justice will evolve to match the new zeitgeist, providing a 5-4 majority for the administration. Meanwhile, of course, Obama’s other appointments will be filling up the rest of the judiciary at a rapid clip, with nobody able to stop them.
