Climate Czar is a Socialist!

Posted by rightwinger on January 14, 2009

It has been reported that the climate Czar, Carol M. Browner,  appointed by President-elect Obama is a known member of the Socialist International party.  The Socialist International party’s web site scrubbed her name.  The closest Marxist – Socialist are being put into place to severly harm the US economy.  Now just think about Obama’s Senate bill 2433.  Folks we are seeing a Marxist-socialist stealth takeover of our government.

Until last week, Carol M. Browner, President-elect Barack Obama’s pick as global warming czar, was listed as one of 14 leaders of a socialist group’s Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which calls for “global governance” and says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change.

By Thursday, Mrs. Browner’s name and biography had been removed from Socialist International’s Web page, though a photo of her speaking June 30 to the group’s congress in Greece was still available.

Socialist International, an umbrella group for many of the world’s social democratic political parties such as Britain’s Labor Party, says it supports socialism and is harshly critical of U.S. policies.

The group’s Commission for a Sustainable World Society, the organization’s action arm on climate change, says the developed world must reduce consumption and commit to binding and punitive limits on greenhouse gas emissions.

Mr. Obama, who has said action on climate change would be a priority in his administration, tapped Mrs. Browner last month to fill a new position as White House coordinator of climate and energy policies. The appointment does not need Senate confirmation.

Mr. Obama’s transition team said Mrs. Browner’s membership in the organization is not a problem and that it brings experience in U.S. policymaking to her new role.

Investor’s Business Daily had a nice write up about Mrs. Browner also:

Is anyone surprised that the would-be czarina of federal climate and energy policy has ties to a socialist group? The environmental movement’s goal is to afflict the economy, not comfort the ecology.

Carol Browner, who’ll run the new White House office of climate and energy policies, isn’t new to Washington. The public will recognize her name from the years she served as Environmental Protection Agency administrator under Bill Clinton.

The public, however, knows little or nothing about her work with Socialist International, a group that describes itself as a worldwide organization of social democratic, socialist and labor parties that envisions a “new, democratic world society” and typically takes anti-U.S. positions.

Within its declaration of principles there are clear signs it’s comfortable with using the authority of the state to establish a global socialist regime.

Equally as telling are its member groups, including Nicaragua’s Sandinista National Liberation Front, Democratic Socialists of America, and socialist and labor parties from dozens of nations.

Browner was linked to Socialist International through her leadership post on the group’s Commission for a Sustainable World Society. The Washington Times reports Browner was also listed as an individual member of Socialist International.

In her role as a White House aide, Browner should be looking out for U.S. interests. Yet, according to the Times, Socialist International’s Commission for a Sustainable World Society not only wants America, as well as other developed nations, to cut their current levels of consumption. It has called for a “fair approach” to global warming and climate change that “must be centered on solidarity and aim to reduce the disparity between the developed and the developing countries.”

Reducing the disparity will come, of course, at the expense of wealthy nations. Socialists dream of an egalitarianism that is reached not by lifting the fortunes of everyone but by redistributing wealth downward. They pretend to be interested only in taking care of the planet. But another purpose seems to be containing or even shrinking thriving economies. They are little more than socialists disguised as activists.

Evidence of Browner’s association with Socialist International has been largely scrubbed from the group’s Web site. Someone in the incoming administration — Browner herself? — must have felt it wouldn’t be wise for people to know about it.

This we can understand. What we can’t understand is why those ties didn’t disqualify her for the job.

After learning about Mrs. Browner, I think Al Gore may have been a better choice as ridiculous as that sounds.

More Global Warming Dissenters

Posted by rightwinger on December 22, 2008

More experts agree that global warming and climate change is not due to CO2.  There are changes in climate due to many things.  How did the Egyptians pharoah’s finally fall?  There was a massive drought that caused the Nile river to dry up and there was mass starvation.  Tell me Global Warming fanatics how did that happen if this is all based on the industrial revolution?

Over 650 dissenting scientists from around the globe challenged man-made global warming claims made by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and former Vice President Al Gore. This new 231-page U.S. Senate Minority Report — updated from 2007’s groundbreaking report of over 400 scientists who voiced skepticism about the so-called global warming “consensus” — features the skeptical voices of over 650 prominent international scientists, including many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned against the UN IPCC. This updated report includes an additional 250 (and growing) scientists and climate researchers since the initial release in December 2007.  The over 650 dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media-hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.

The chorus of skeptical scientific voices grow louder in 2008 as a steady stream of peer-reviewed studies, analyses, real world data and inconvenient developments challenged the UN’s and former Vice President Al Gore’s claims that the “science is settled” and there is a “consensus.” On a range of issues, 2008 proved to be challenging for the promoters of man-made climate fears.  Promoters of anthropogenic warming fears endured the following: Global temperatures failing to warm; Peer-reviewed studies predicting a continued lack of warming; a failed attempt to revive the discredited “Hockey Stick”; inconvenient developments and studies regarding rising CO2; the Spotless Sun; Clouds; Antarctica; the Arctic; Greenland’s ice; Mount Kilimanjaro; Global sea ice; Causes of Hurricanes; ExtremeStorms; Extinctions; Floods; Droughts; Ocean Acidification; Polar Bears; Extreme weather deaths; Frogs; lack of atmospheric dust; Malaria; the failure of oceans to warmand rise as predicted.

Steven Chu – Big Mistake as Energy Director

Posted by rightwinger on December 17, 2008

Hold on to your wallets people because you will be taxed for breathing.  Oh yes CO2 will be made a pollutant under Obama.  So that vapor tax cut you are getting from Obama which is actually just that you get to keep your Bush tax cut will not come close to the high energy, food, and goods prices you are about to encounter.  I wonder how Obama is going to blame Bush for his own stupidity on this Global Warming fiasco.  Its snowing in Houston and New Orleans and they continue to claim the planet is warming!   I guess Obama’s team had better tell Mother Nature its suppose to be getting hotter not colder, so your Global Warming junk science would at least appear to be correct.

Barack Obama’s apparent choice for Energy secretary is physicist Steven Chu. While there’s no question about Chu’s brilliance, his political activism is not what the country needs….

He has criticized “free market forces” for not cutting carbon dioxide emissions and supports “a combination of fiscal policies and downright regulations” for controlling CO2.

He claims coal — which today fuels hundreds of power plants — is an “obstacle to progress,” and has said “coal is my worst nightmare.” And he shows an alarmist’s fear of global warming.

Chu is also a zealous advocate of alternative energy, using his position as director of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California to push policymakers to remake the facility into a center for researching biofuels and solar energy.

An opponent of coal who happens to be a global warming reactionary is not suitable to be in charge of the nation’s energy policy.

Our economy, our culture — our very lives — depend on a steady flow of conventional energy, at least until economically viable alternatives can be developed. The energy secretary should do little more than ensure that America has a plentiful and uninterrupted supply of fossil fuels and electricity.

More Oil Companies Leaving US

Posted by rightwinger on December 17, 2008

I wrote about this before the election.  An Obama Administration is hostile to corporations especially the oil companies.  Congress refusing to open up drilling further exacerbates the situation.  American Companies are leaving the US.  Wow this is real change we can believe in!   I hope you are happy Obamabots.

From Investor’s Business Daily:

Energy: Another day, another oil company fleeing the country. No, this isn’t Ecuador, the banana republic that just defaulted on its debt after chasing out investors. It’s the United States, and what we’re seeing is self-defense.

Much political hay has been made in Congress about “unpatriotic” corporations that move operations abroad. Weatherford International is the latest, taking its headquarters from Houston to Switzerland. The oil services company said that it wants to be closer to its markets. But what it really meant was that it no longer saw the future in the U.S.

In a political atmosphere of blaming corporations, it’s no wonder. Halliburton fled to Dubai in 2007. Tyco International, Foster Wheeler and Transocean International all went to Switzerland. As a pattern emerges, America’s global standing diminishes, in part because it’s based on the willingness of companies to invest. It’s an especially bad sign when domestic companies flee.

“The U.S. is an important market,” Weatherford CEO Bernard J. Duroc-Danner told the Houston Chronicle Thursday. But, “it’s just a market. It’s not the primary market.”

How does that sound for a loss of global leadership? If that’s not clear enough, try this: “In the hierarchical pecking order, (Houston’s) not going to be Rome anymore.”

What accounts for this vote of no confidence in the U.S.?

Start with the demonization of oil companies. Executives have been hauled before Congressional star chambers, held up to abuse and ridicule, and then blamed for high oil prices as if they wanted to kill their markets. Rising global demand, nationalizations and Congress’ failure to open the country to drilling go ignored.

Huge companies such as Exxon Mobil, whose market cap exceeds the GDP of most countries, create $100 billion in earnings in quarters when oil prices soar. It looks high, but over the years, the industry’s average returns, at 9%, are less than other industries.

Nevertheless, Exxon’s profits are evidence of its success at extracting oil from miles below the earth’s surface, even underwater, and from unbelievably hostile environments, such as the Arctic. Instead of being objects of national pride for their productivity and efficiency, and subjects of heroic Hollywood movies, their success is considered to be dishonest.

Congressional hostility affects oil companies’ operations abroad, too: Exxon, remember, noted that Congress’ animus toward oil profits directly encouraged Hugo Chavez’s uncompensated expropriations of $1 billion of Exxon’s assets in Venezuela, which drove oil prices higher.

With an expanded Democratic Congress and an incoming Democratic president determined to create “patriot corporations,” it’s no surprise to see companies try to get out while they can. Make no mistake — it’s investment fleeing the country. As this goes, foreign capital could flee next.

Congress’ abuse sets the political tone for the worst to come.

First, oil companies, like all corporations, endure the second-highest taxation in the developed world (39.25% of their income), which dampens their competitiveness. The 2007 OECD average is 27.6% and falling. Worse still, U.S. firms are taxed on operations around the world, unlike the global standard, making a move of headquarters a defensive move.

Meanwhile, politicians openly say they want to hike taxes on oil firms. President-elect Obama seems to have backed off, but questions remain as to whether he can stand up to a rapacious and economically ignorant Congress that hasn’t.

Second, Big Labor is feeling its oats, swaggering confidently with newfound political power. United Steelworkers approved a “national oil bargaining policy” for higher wages and beefed up its “strike defense fund,” both of which point to plans to squeeze oil companies, if not launch strikes.

“You have to prepare your membership for 2009,” according to USW International Vice President Gary Beevers on a union Web site. “The oil companies are ready for us; we have to be ready for them.” With Congress at their back, oil companies are unlikely to lose.

None of this portends well for the U.S. business environment. That’s why top-performing firms, such as Weatherford, are exiting. Until Congress learns to appreciate and value oil firms, this will continue, leading to less U.S. investment and influence as more competitive climes beckon.

Associated “Obama” Press – Warns of Global Warming

Posted by rightwinger on December 17, 2008

Its ridiculous the Associate Press continues to propagate the myth of global warming while it snowed in New Orleans and Houston recently.  Don’t worry Obama keeps propagating the myth also.  Why?  Well of course because they want to levy high cap and trade taxes on us.   They even want to make CO2 a pollutant.  Essentially you will be taxed for breathing.  I wonder how Obama is going to spin all of these unnecessary taxes.  Well he definitely won’t be able to blame Bush.  He’ll have to take responsibility for decreasing every American’s standard of living for himself.

The temperature at Denver International Airport dropped to 18 below zero on Sunday, breaking the previous record of 14 below set in 1901. White Sulphur Springs, Mont., reported 29 below to the National Weather Service, breaking the record of 17 below set in 1922. Meanwhile, ice storms ravage the Northeast and the upper Midwest.

This is not a local phenomenon. Hong Kong had the second-longest cold spell since 1885. Cold in northern Vietnam destroyed 40% of the rice crop and killed 33,000 head of livestock. The British Parliament debated climate change as London experienced the first October snow since 1934.

Presumably this has all been reported by the Associated Press. But according to a weekend AP report, this is all an illusion and “2008 is on a pace to be a slightly cooler year in a steadily rising temperature trend line.” Rather than being “evidence of some kind of cooling trend, it actually illustrates how fast the world is warming.” Oh.

The report, which includes no comments from any skeptic, says global warming “is a ticking time-bomb that President-elect Obama can’t avoid.” It warns “warming is accelerating. Time is running out, and Obama knows it.” Especially if he relies on AP wire reports.

Problem is, nature didn’t get the memo. Geophysicist David Deming found that for the first time since the 18th century, in the days before SUVs, Alaskan glaciers grew this year instead of retreating. Fairbanks had its fourth coldest October in 104 years of records.

U.S. Geological Survey glaciologist Bruce Molnia reported: “On the Juneau Icefield, there was still 20 feet of new snow on the surface of the Taku Glacier in late July.” It was the worst summer he’d seen in two decades.

As the Anchorage Daily News reports, “Never before in the history of a research project dating back to 1946 had the Juneau Ice Field witnessed the kind if snow buildup that came this year. It was similar on a lot of other glaciers too.”

The consequence of melting glaciers and sea ice is supposed to be rising sea levels. The poster children for this phenomenon are low-lying coral islands such as the Maldives and Tuvalu. Again, the facts are ignored in the quest for headlines.

The satellite record shows the sea level has actually fallen four inches around Tuvalu since 1993, when the $100 million international TOPEX/POSEIDON satellite project record began.

Global Warming? Not Quite its Global Cooling!

Posted by rightwinger on December 11, 2008

Study after study is showing that global warming is a myth and we are actually in a cooling cycle, but Obama still agrees with Al Gore that Global Warming is proven.  Now we are on an insane collision course saying that Co2 is a pollutant.  This will lead to a net loss of jobs and decrease our standard of living.   Don’t worry Obama is going to create green jobs, but he hasn’t explained that more jobs will be lost with his going green initiative.  Now Obama is calling this climate change since the numbers don’t bear out global warming.  It doesn’t matter what they call it, it will destroy our economy and turn the US into a third world country!  Don’t worry Obamabots, we will all be citizens of the world then.

In a video presentation to a U.N. conference held to revive the Kyoto Treaty approach, Obama concurred with Gore that warming science is “beyond dispute and the facts are clear.” “Sea levels are rising,” he asserted, “coastlines are shrinking, we’ve seen drought spreading famine, and storms are growing stronger with each passing season.” Problem is, none of it’s true. The Gore-Obama meeting followed an announcement by researchers at Florida State University that the 2007 and 2008 hurricane seasons had the least tropical activity in the Northern Hemisphere in 30 years. Then there was a report in November on cyclone activity showing storm durations and wind speeds in 2007 and 2008 were among the lowest since reliable global satellite data became available three decades ago. As for those coastlines, studies by the International Commission on Sea Level Changes and others show ocean levels in recent decades have actually fallen. The Indian Ocean, for example, was higher between 1900 and 1970 than it has been since. Due to a decline in solar activity and other factors, the Earth is cooling, and has been since 1998. A peer-reviewed study published in April by Nature predicted the world will continue cooling at least through 2015. In the U.S., the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration registered 63 local snowfall records and 115 lowest-ever temperatures for the month of October. Meteorologist and Weather Channel founder John Coleman notes that a significant natural warming trend peaked in 1998 with lots of sunspots and solar flares. Now the sun has gone quiet with fewer sunspots, and global temperatures have gone into decline. “Earth,” he says, “has cooled for almost 10 straight years.” So why in an economy reeling from a market collapse are we still considering emission controls certain to kill both jobs and economic growth? The EPA said the cap-and-trade lunacy of the recently stalled Lieberman-Warner bill would have caused a loss of $3 trillion in GDP in a $14 trillion economy. An analysis by the National Association of Manufacturers and the American Council for Capital Formation concluded that passage of Lieberman-Warner would by 2030 cost the average American household $6,752 a year, with job losses as much as four million. Is the Community Reinvestment Act to blame for the current Economic Crisis – Yes with a little help from cooking the books at Fannie Mae

Posted by rightwinger on December 11, 2008

Many politicians and government officials are not telling the truth when they say that the Community Reinvestment Act is not to blame for the current economic crisis.

There are three major reasons for the current Economic Crisis:

1. Community Reinvestment Act

2. Repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act

  • Banking regulations put in place after the Great Depression.
  • Repealed under Clinton
  • Led by a Republican, but signed by Clinton

3. Accounting Irregularities at Fannie Mae (aka cooking the books like Enron)

Barack Obama has interestingly enough blamed Bush for the Economic Crisis. In reality the economic crisis is rooted in Democrat legislation. When the Republicans tried to blow the whistle and say that reforms were needed, the Democrats stopped it. It all began with the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) under Carter which guaranteed that low income individuals would be guaranteed loans. These loans are referred to as ninja loans – no income, no job, no assets. It didn’t cause a problem until under Clinton when they mandated that Fannie Mae’s portfolio be 50% of these ninja loans. It is interesting that Fannie Mae’s portfolio was increased right at the end of Clinton’s presidency and was inherited by Bush. By the way, Bush also inherited an economy in recession. Most people have forgotten this fact. In the Spring of 2000, the stock market crashed when the dot com bomb hit. Because of this a trend started where people started buying bigger fancier houses and investing less in the stock market. Also the house flipping trend came on the scene. This was the beginnings of the Housing bubble. Seven months after Bush took office, the US was attacked on 9/11. We were lucky due to Bush’s economic policies not to go into a deep depression.

No company can survive with 50% of its assets in junk holdings. It is destined to fail. This is what happened to Fannie Mae. Add to this ninja loans were mandated by Congress so lenders had a quota they HAD to meet in order to comply with the CRA. Now everyone was buying houses even people who were high risks. For awhile things were fine. It takes years for something like this to finally bust.

The Dems want to say that it is ALL because of the Glass-Steagall Act being repealed. Yes this was a contributing factor, but NOT the reason we are in this mess. At the heart of this debacle is that these junk loans were bundled and resold. Its the bad assets that caused the failure. If good assets had been bundled and resold we wouldn’t be in this mess. The assets being packaged and sold to other financial institutions were these worthless ninja loans that were mandated as being 50% of Fannie Mae’s assets. Now once Bush was in office and “accounting irregularities” were discovered the Republicans tried to blow the whistle as you will see in the below video. Although the Republicans controlled Congress they did not have enough votes to override the Democrats halting the new regulations being proposed. Fannie Mae was cooking the books. Franklin Raines should be in prison right about now. He oversaw Fannie Mae and personally profited to the tune of $90 million in 6 years. The Democrats in Congress knew this and covered it ALL up while fighting against any new regulation changes to Fannie Mae.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

How is Obama tied into the Fannie Mae debacle? Well he knew Fannie was in trouble and did nothing but take payoffs. In 2005 he knew it was in trouble and just got a large sum of money to go along with the Democratic cover-up. Obama even represented ACORN and sued one bank forcing them to make these junk loans. One of ACORN’s tasks was to intimidate banks into making these ninja loans. Obama both worked for ACORN and trained other community organizers in these harsh tactics. Obama having only been in the Senate for less than 4 years was number 2 on receiving payouts or should I say payoffs from Fannie Mae. Barack Obama is a liar who is saying the Bush policies caused the Economic Crisis. Wake up America! The main stream media continues to cover for his lies. See the video below where Michelle Obama was at this 2005 meeting where it was announced that Fannie Mae was in trouble and how these Democrats were Fannie Mae’s “family”.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Let’s face it, if Obama was this great leader of change, he would have stood up and pointed out this corruption instead of simply staying quiet and receiving money. Barack Obama knew Fannie Mae was crumbling from within while he remained quiet.  Now that Obama has been elected, he is in major cover up mode for Fannie Mae and his friends that ran it.  You won’t hear anything about theses facts in the main stream media.  Nope.  It will just all be covered up.   It is bad enough Obama is lying about it, but the fact that he and the Democrats refuse to do anything about it is worse. The refusal of the Democrats to investigate Franklin Raines and the root cause of the crisis is putting our nation at peril. In fact the Democrats are blatantly lieing and saying that CRA wasn’t behind this mess. If anyone with any sense who looks further knows that it was at the heart of this crisis.  Another 10 years of these kinds of underhanded politics, business as usual, blame someone else (aka Bush) will destroy our economy while these politicians grease their own hands.  Guess what we all may become global citizens while the US becomes a third world nation.  Oh yess, Obama is going to see to this with his Global Poverty Act S.2433.

Worst Decision Ever – cap and trade debacle

Posted by rightwinger on November 18, 2008

I keep hearing economic junk coming out of president elect Obama and his camp.

1. He wants to raise taxes during a world wide recession. First of all he was asked in his first press conference whether he would still raise taxes on the top 5% of individuals.  Obama gave a campaign slogan ” I will give a net 95% tax cut.”  We all know this is inaccurate because 40% of Americans don’t pay taxes.  I digress.  We are in a world wide recession.  If we raise any taxes it will be bad for the economy.  The same thing happened with Herbert Hoover.  He raised taxes and caused the Great Depression.

2. Obama wants to do a huge stimulus plan. This is a big mistake.  We need to cut taxes.  The British Prime Minister recently called for all industrial nations to cut all taxes. Now Obama says we are going to lead the world in Global Warming taxes called cap and trade.  I ask you can this economy rebound under all these taxes?

3.  No new energy just “green” energy. Add to it the fact that we are not going to drill for oil, natural gas, or coal. We aren’t even going to build any new nuclear power plants.  Essentially on top of all the new taxes Obama has in store for us, energy is going to go up based on lack of supply and these outrageous taxes from cap and trade.  We are headed for an Obama depression plain and simple.  Read up on the great the depression and you will see we are following in Herbert Hoover and Roosevelt’s footsteps which equals a great depression.

Calling climate change an urgent challenge, President-elect Barack Obama promised Tuesday that Washington would take a leading role in combating it in the United States and throughout the world.”My presidency will mark a new chapter in America’s leadership on climate change,” Obama said in a video message to governors and others attending a Los Angeles summit on the issue.

In the roughly four-minute message, Obama reiterated his support for a cap-and-trade system approach to cutting green house gases. He would establish annual targets to reduce emissions to their 1990 levels by 2020 and reduce them another 80 percent by 2050. Obama also promoted anew his proposal to invest $15 billion each year to support private sector efforts toward clean energy.

Obama: I’ll make energy prices “skyrocket”

Posted by rightwinger on November 3, 2008

Think your electricity rates are high now? Just wait until Obama gets elected!  Instead of drilling now and using clean coal while we find that “new” energy source.  Obama has promised that he will force change on Americans by making electricity prices skyrocket!  Of course this won’t affect the wealthy elitists in Hollywood that love Obama.  This will drastically affect the middle class as our standard of living gets lowered.  Higher energy prices will lead to higher prices on food and goods also.  It will ripple through the economy like wild fire.   What will the Dems do?  Of course they will blame it on Bush.  I think this excuse is going to get old really fast.  When this happens, I will repost this and say see I told you so a year ago!

Global Warming debunked!

Posted by rightwinger on October 31, 2008

New evidence reveals the fundamental mathematical flaw in the computer program used to create the Global Warming myth.

Progress in science is sometimes made by great discoveries. But science also advances when we learn that something we believed to be true isnt. When solving a jigsaw puzzle, the solution can sometimes be stymied by the fact that a wrong piece has been wedged in a key place.

In the scientific and political debate over global warming, the latest wrong piece may be the hockey stick, the famous plot (shown below), published by University of Massachusetts geoscientist Michael Mann and colleagues. This plot purports to show that we are now experiencing the warmest climate in a millennium, and that the earth, after remaining cool for centuries during the medieval era, suddenly began to heat up about 100 years ago–just at the time that the burning of coal and oil led to an increase in atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide.

I talked about this at length in my December 2003 column. Unfortunately, discussion of this plot has been so polluted by political and activist frenzy that it is hard to dig into it to reach the science. My earlier column was largely a plea to let science proceed unmolested. Unfortunately, the very importance of the issue has made careful science difficult to pursue.

But now a shock: Canadian scientists Stephen McIntyre and Ross McKitrick have uncovered a fundamental mathematical flaw in the computer program that was used to produce the hockey stick. In his original publications of the stick, Mann purported to use a standard method known as principal component analysis, or PCA, to find the dominant features in a set of more than 70 different climate records.

But it wasnt so. McIntyre and McKitrick obtained part of the program that Mann used, and they found serious problems. Not only does the program not do conventional PCA, but it handles data normalization in a way that can only be described as mistaken.
