Jim Webb, a hypocrite

Posted by rightwinger on July 3, 2008

Jim Webb used his military record to get elected, but McCain should “calm down” about his military record. I love the way the pundit on this show says McCain has no answers to America’s problems. Excuse me McCain wants to drill which will build a bridge to alternative energy. If we don’t, oil and gas will be double in a few years. While the next new clean energy is at least 15 years away for the masses. If you want even higher gas and food prices, go ahead Libs and continue to stop drilling for oil and gas. I say that the Democrat party has no answers.

Democrat Congressman Delahunt Wants Terrorists to Harm Cheney’s Aide

Posted by rightwinger on June 30, 2008

Democrat Congressman Delahunt is for the terrorists. He wants them to kill Cheny’s aid. Sounds like a traitor to me. We are in a War declared by Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri. On page 47 of the 9/11 Commission section 2.1, it states “A Declaration of War.” In February 1998, Osama bin Laden and Ayman al Zawahiri together issued a worldwide fatwa to all Muslims. The fatwa called for “the murder of any American, anywhere on earth.” Three months later bin Laden went on the say that “it was more important for Muslims to kill Americans than to kill other infidels.” “We do not differentiate between military or civilian. As far as we are concerned they are all targets.”

What About Precedence?

Posted by rightwinger on June 25, 2008

The reality is there is no precedence for allowing enemy combatants the right of habeas corpus. In fact the opposite is true. In the Johnson v. Eisentrager, 339 U. S. 763 (1950) case the US Supreme Court ruled that habeas corpus should not be given to WWII enemy combatants.

JUSTICE SCALIA, with whom THE CHIEF JUSTICE, JUSTICE THOMAS, and JUSTICE ALITO join, dissenting. Today, for the first time in our Nation’s history, the Court confers a constitutional right to habeas corpus onalien enemies detained abroad by our military forces inthe course of an ongoing war. My problem with today’s opinion is more fundamental still: The writ of habeas corpus does not, and never has, run in favor of aliens abroad; the Suspension Clause thushas no application, and the Court’s intervention in this military matter is entirely ultra vires. America is at war with radical Islamists. The enemy began by killing Americans and American allies abroad: 241 at the Marine barracks in Lebanon, 19 at the Khobar Towers in Dhahran, 224 at our embassies in Dar es Salaam and Nairobi, and 17 on the USS Cole in Yemen. See National Commission on Terrorist Attacks upon the United States, The 9/11 Commission Report, pp. 60–61, 70, 190 (2004). On September 11, 2001, the enemy brought the battle to American soil, killing 2,749 at the Twin Towers in New York City, 184 at the Pentagon inWashington, D. C., and 40 in Pennsylvania. See id., at 552, n. 9. It has threatened further attacks against our homeland; one need only walk about buttressed and barricaded Washington, or board a plane anywhere in the country, to know that the threat is a serious one. Our Armed Forces are now in the field against the enemy, in Afghanistan and Iraq. Last week, 13 of our countrymen in arms were killed. The game of bait-and-switch that today’s opinion playsupon the Nation’s Commander in Chief will make the warharder on us. It will almost certainly cause more Americans to be killed. That consequence would be tolerable if necessary to preserve a time-honored legal principle vital to our constitutional Republic. But it is this Court’s blatant abandonment of such a principle that produces thedecision today. The President relied on our settled precedent in Johnson v. Eisentrager, 339 U. S. 763 (1950), whenhe established the prison at Guantanamo Bay for enemy aliens. have transported prisoners there, but would have kept them in Afghanistan, transferred them to another of our foreign military bases, or turned them over to allies for detention.  Those other facilities might well have been worse for the detainees themselves.

Global Warming Kook Paid For By George Soros

Posted by rightwinger on June 24, 2008

On the leftist web sites any scientist that speaks out against Global Warming has been bought and paid for by the big Oil companies. Well this kook has been bought and paid for by Heinz (yes, Kerry’s wife), George Soros, and none other than Al Gore himself the inventor of the internet.

James Hansen, Director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS)….Hansen now seems to be calling for the chief executives of Big Oil to be tried for high crimes against humanity. Their crime? Spreading doubt about global warming.

Actually, it is Hansen who is guilty. Guilty of abusing the public trust. Examine the largess culled by Hansen.

In 2001, the Heinz Foundation “awarded” James Hansen with a payment of $250,000 for his work on global warming. According to the foundation: “It was Dr. Hansen who, in the sweltering, drought-scorched summer of 1988, went where few scientists were willing to go-before Congress, to explain just how serious the potential for global warming truly was.” The Heinz Foundation, directed by the wife of U.S. Senator and former presidential candidate, John Kerry, is widely known for its support of liberal causes. Is it any surprise that James Hansen also endorsed John Kerry for President in 2004? The quarter of a million was just a tease of additional monies to come.

In 2007, Hansen split a $1 million prize from the Dan David prize category of “Future Quest for Energy” (layman’s translation: a world without oil). In addition he also reported to have acted as a consultant to Gore’s global whining slide show, which was the impetus to the Prince of Peace’s film, “An Inconvenient Truth.” In fact, in 2006 Hansen had the gall to appear on a New York City stage with Mr. Gore to promote the then upcoming film-though he did reportedly inform the audience, “I’m not speaking as a government employee.”

Topping it all, Hansen has allegedly received hundreds of thousands of additional dollars to further politicize the issue of global warming. According to Investors Business Daily, “How many people, for instance, know that James Hansen, a man billed as a lonely ‘NASA whistleblower’ standing up to the mighty U.S. government, was really funded by [George] Soros’ Open Society Institute (OSI), which gave him ‘legal and media advice’? That’s right, Hansen was packaged for the media by Soros’ flagship ‘philanthropy’ by as much as $720,000, most likely under the OSI’s ‘politicization of science’ program.” Hansen denied any relationship with OSI, but Investor’s Business Daily refused to back off on their story, “claiming the funding first passed through the Government Accountability Project, which then used it to package Hansen for the media.”

Obama Flip Flops on Public Campaign Funds

Posted by rightwinger on June 23, 2008

I thought Obama was the candidate for change ? Really ??? He’s flip flopped on taking public funds because the “system is broken.” Whatever… Its whatever is convenient for him. Apparently the Democrats sued McCain when he said he wasn’t taking public funds. McCain is taking public funds for the 2008 campaign. Should the Republicans sue Obama ???

Obama Plays Race Card

Posted by rightwinger on June 23, 2008

Obama 6/21/2008:

“We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid,” Obama said at the fundraiser. “They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black? He’s got a feisty wife.”

Oh Great Obama is playing the race card. Can’t you come up with something better Barack like solve our energy problems? Oh yeah, you don’t have a clue about that do you? So let’s play the race card and get everyone off the fact that gas is at $4 a gallon and the Dems have no answers. My criticisms of Barack have NOTHING to do with race, but everything to do with his socialist leanings that will ruin this country.

Dems to blame for High Gas Prices

Posted by rightwinger on June 12, 2008

I received this in an e-mail from a friend and I agree with it 100%.

Gas at $4.00 a gallon. Who’s to blame?

Thanks to the enivironmentalist lobby and its influence on Democratic legislators in Congress, the U.S. has, for decades, been prohibited from drilling for oil in places that we know contain billions of barrels of proven reserves.

Check out this map:

All of the ‘NO’ zones are places where the U.S. , thanks to the Democratic Party, is prohibited from drilling for oil.

But wait . it gets better.

*** China, Cuba, Canada and others continue to drill off our shores where US companies are not allowed to drill because of Democratic policies!

http://bp2.blogger.com/_L6pDyjqqsvY/SBfoVYWcIyI/AAAAAAAANQM/sbwHkEqH6d0/s1600-h/china+drilling.jpg

Yes, that’s right . China and Cuba are actively exploring oil fields 50 miles from Key West, Florida while U.S. companies are barred from working in this area because of U.S. policy . So, instead of allowing the most environmentally responsible companies to operate there and increase our domestic supply, China, who has a dismal environmental record, is preparing to suck our close, lucrative oil reserves dry.

Unbelievable.

Investor’s Business Daily recently explained how irresponsible the Democrats have been on the energy crisis. They lay into what they consider to be the worst Congress ever for …

~ Failing to allow drilling in ANWR. We have, as President Bush noted, estimated capacity of a million barrels of oil a day from this source alone — enough for 27 million gallons of gas and diesel. But Congress won’t touch it, fearful of the clout of the environmental lobby. As a result, you pay through the nose at the pump so your representative can raise campaign cash.

~ Refusing to build new refineries. The U.S. hasn’t built one since 1976, yet the EPA requires at least 15 unique ’boutique’ fuel blends that can be sold in different areas around the nation. This means that U.S. refinery capacity is stretched so tight that even the slightest problem at a refinery causes enormous supply problems and price spikes. Congress has done nothing about this.

~ Turning its back on nuclear power. It’s safe and, with advances in nuclear reprocessing technology, waste problems have been minimized. Still, we have just 104 nuclear plants — the same as a decade ago — producing just 19% of our total energy. (Many European nations produce 40% or more of their power with nuclear.) Granted, nuclear power plants are expensive — about $3 billion each. But they produce energy at $1.72/kilowatt-hour vs. $2.37 for coal and $6.35 for natural gas.

~ Raising taxes on energy producers. This is where a basic understanding of economics would help: Higher taxes and needless regulation lead to less production of a commodity. So by proposing ‘windfall’ and other taxes on energy companies plus tough new rules, Congress only makes our energy situation worse.

These are just a few of Congress’ sins of omission — all while India , China , Eastern Europe and the Middle East are adding more than a million barrels of new demand each and every year. New Energy Department forecasts see world oil demand growing 40% by 2030, including a 28% increase in the U.S.

Americans who are worried about the direction of their country, including runaway energy and food prices, should keep in mind the upcoming election isn’t just about choosing a new president. We’ll also pick a new Congress.

If you agree with the need to let the American people know who’s REALLY responsible for the sky-high gasoline prices we’re seeing today, please forward this e-mail to everyone you know.

If we elect a liberal Democrat as president in the Fall and keep the same Democrat-controlled Congress, nothing will change .. except gasoline prices, which will keep going up.

Marxists on the Left

Posted by rightwinger on June 10, 2008

Great article on the radical left and how they have hijacked the Democratic Party.

Until recently in our history, a President Barack Obama would have been an impossibility. But given the political and ideological climate that exists today in America, the ascension of a leftist like Barack Obama into presidential politics makes perfect sense. Beliefs like domestic terrorist William Ayers’s and racist, anti-US preacher Jeremiah Wright’s are no longer met with utter scorn or a trip to behind the woodshed, but are embraced, promoted and defended by many Americans. Think MoveOn, International ANSWER, think hordes of young neo-communists and their indoctrinating, puppet-master Marx-spouting professors. Think Michael Moore, Cindy Sheehan, Noam Chomsky, Ward Churchill and his acolytes.

Maxine Waters threatens to nationalize America’s oil industry

Posted by rightwinger on May 29, 2008

Stupidity at its best. Maxine Waters wants to nationalize the oil companies. This is what the Dems really want. The government can’t balance its budget, but it thinks it can run the oil companies. Sure Maxine, whatever.
